Please find some measures which will help to make your Joomla installation, more search engine friendly.

• Get rid of / remove  or change your homepage / mainpage title, from that of "home". http://www.web-code.org/joomla-guides/how-to-remove-home-from-title-tag.html
• For SEF urls, and total control of how an url is written then consider the following component; sh404SEF which doesn't come with the default installation.

To change the case of the urls, they can be edited to suit, simply check the box on the left and hit the edit button, like where the sample image below shows that the address of the page would have being /Joomla-Seo, but that lower case would be more desirable to fit with the existing ones.

• To prevent duplicate titles, or where a default is selected, ensure that Dynamic Page Titles are enabled (set to Yes)  in Global Settings > Seo

• To remove the "Powered by Joomla" link at the bottom of the default installation, go to includes/footer.php and towards the end of the file; remove

• Can the main page be a static one, instead of a dynamic?

Seo Tip

If I had put the the links of the unordered list above, into the "linked to" menu, then it would effect the site proper!

Instead, we make a new static page and link to it as above. Then it is not an orphaned page and should be in the sitemap anyway.
